German Chocolate Cake Sells for $2,200 at Foundation Gala

Betty Hedrick is no stranger to ACRMC or Adams County residents.  She has served on the hospital Auxiliary since the hospital opened its doors in 1951, spent 39 years in Adams County Emergency Medical Services, and drove a school bus for 25 years.

Betty currently serves as the Auxiliary president, serves the ACRMC Emergency Department a meal for every holiday and volunteers in the department, and helps organize the annual EMS appreciation luncheon.

Betty donated a homemade German Chocolate Cake with Coconut Pecan Icing for the Gala Live Auction this year. Her made-from-scratch cake was a big hit! Of course it was not just a cake, but the sentiment and respect that made her donation priceless and such a success.  Betty stated that she has made over 50 cakes for various functions at the hospital but this is the first time one of her cakes has sold for $2,200.
