Adams County Health and Wellness Coalition

The Adams County Health and Wellness Coalition is a non-profit organization under the umbrella of the Adams County Medical Foundation.  The Coalition’s mission is to improve the health and wellness of the children of Adams County and their families by assisting the community in creating a culture of wellness through increased physical activities and improved nutrition.

Recently, the Coalition hosted a series of grocery store tours where registered dietitians led groups of participants around their grocery store and provided educational information about the nutrition content of food items, ways to shop for affordable healthy foods, and healthier methods of cooking favorite family foods.  Also, interactive cooking demonstrations were held at parent-teacher conferences where dietitians cooked healthy versions of a popular classic dish.
